When to choose Claude Tag

Anthropic announced Claude Tag on 23 June 2026, in beta for Claude Team and Enterprise plans. Claude joins a Slack channel as a team member, and anyone in the channel can tag @Claude to ask for help. Claude Tag replaced the older Claude in Slack app, work done in channels is billed to the organisation, and Anthropic plans to take it beyond Slack.

Choose Claude Tag when your team already talks in Slack and you want one Claude that the whole channel can turn to: anyone can tag it, and the work happens in the open, where the conversation already is.

When to choose Colle

Choose Colle when work moves from one person to another, and each person works in their own assistant. You tell your Claude or ChatGPT “send this to Rachel and Tom, contract review by the 20th”. If two people share a name, Claude asks which Tom you mean. Rachel and Tom get a handoff with the summary, the facts and the files; a Chrome pop-up reaches them in about 0.2 seconds, with Web Push on desktop and phone.

The handoff then has an owner and a status: accepted, returned with a reason, done, or overdue after the 20th. The deadline is recorded as a fact with its history. A handoff sent to a person is seen only by the sender and the recipients, not by a whole channel, and the recipient continues with full context in their own Claude or ChatGPT. See how it works.

Colle is not the best fit for every case. If what you want is a shared Claude helping a channel in real time, Claude Tag is built for that, and Colle does not replace Slack. Data is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt); more on the security page. Colle costs €15 per active person per month, or €12.50 billed yearly, excluding VAT, and people who only receive notifications do not pay. See pricing.

Using both

The two answer different questions. Claude Tag helps a group think together in a channel; Colle makes sure a specific task lands with a specific person and does not slip. A typical pattern: the team discusses a client issue with @Claude in Slack, then someone tells their own assistant “hand this complaint to logistics with the order number”, and the logistics space gets a handoff that one member picks up.

There is a longer look at this in Claude Tag vs handoffs. Setup for each assistant is on the Claude and ChatGPT pages.
