# Project handovers without the catch-up call

When a project changes managers, the context usually lives in one person’s inbox, files and AI chats. The new manager spends the first days asking questions the old one already answered.

## What gets handed off

- The client brief and the latest meeting notes, as the final versions

- Deadlines and milestones, recorded as facts the next person can see and update

- Decisions already made, and who at the client signs off

- Open questions and the next step, written as a short summary

Example: “Give Tom the client brief and our meeting notes.”

## What the recipient gets

- A notification in their browser or on their phone: who sent it, what it is and by when

- A case with the summary, the facts (kick-off date, budget, contract number) and the files

- The history of the project’s earlier handoffs, so nothing has to be retold

- The option to accept, to return it with a reason (“the signed SOW is missing”), or to mark it done

## Why it matters for projects teams

- **Time back on every handover** One sentence to your assistant replaces the handover email, the hunt for the right version of the brief and the catch-up call.

- **Nothing slips between managers** Every handoff has an owner, a status and a deadline. If the kick-off date passes without a response, it shows as overdue to both of you.

- **The project’s memory stays with the company** The brief, the decisions and the budget changes stay in the case when someone goes on holiday or moves to another project.

## Questions

### Can I hand a project to two people at once?

Yes. Name up to five people in one sentence, for example “send the Nordlit brief to Tom and Rachel”. Each gets their own handoff in the same case.

### What if the new project manager uses ChatGPT and I use Claude?

That works. A handoff sent from Claude can be picked up in ChatGPT and the other way round. Sending from ChatGPT needs a ChatGPT Business or Enterprise plan.

### How big can the project files be?

Originals up to 25 MB each go through a secure upload link and stay in the case. Every company gets 10 GB of storage plus 1 GB per person.
