# Hand off work from Claude in one sentence

With the Colle connector in Claude, you say “send this to James, he runs the launch now” and James gets a handoff with the summary, the key facts and the files. He picks it up in his own Claude or ChatGPT, with nothing to re-explain.

## What the Colle connector does in Claude

The connector gives Claude a small set of tools for work that changes hands. You talk to Claude as usual; Claude uses the tools when you ask it to pass something on or to check what came in.

- **Send a handoff** to up to five colleagues at once, or to a team space where one member picks it up.
- **Ask “what did I get?”** and see the handoffs waiting for you, with who sent them and by when.
- **Return** a handoff with a reason, **mark it done**, or **recall** one you sent to the wrong person.
- **Search** the cases you can access, including files by their description.
- **Record a fact** on a case (a deadline, an amount, a decision) so the next person sees the current value and its history.

## What it sounds like

> Send James my call notes, he takes over the Nordlit account

Claude finds James Parker in your company, writes a summary of what he needs to know, records the next call date as a fact and attaches the notes. If two people share a name, Claude asks first: “Which Tom — Tom Jenkins (Sales) or Tom Walker (Legal)?”

Other things people say:

- “Ask Rachel to check the contract terms.”
- “Pass the draft to Rachel: price €12,400, sign by the 20th.”
- “Send this to Mark — he’ll know what to do with it.”

## How to connect it

During the pilot we set Colle up with you on one call. In short: an administrator creates your company in Colle and invites people by email; each person then adds the Colle connector to their own Claude and signs in. On Claude Team and Enterprise plans, the organisation's Owner adds a connector for everyone and members connect with their own account.

## Claude Share vs a Colle handoff

Claude's Share button creates a read-only snapshot of a chat up to the moment you share it. Later messages stay private, attached files are not included, and on Team and Enterprise plans only people in your organisation can open the link.

That is useful for showing someone a conversation. A handoff is for giving someone the work: a named recipient, the files, a deadline, and a status that shows whether they accepted it, returned it or finished it. The recipient does not even need Claude: they can continue in ChatGPT.

## Security in short

Your data is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt), every company's data is isolated on every query, and a handoff sent to a person is seen only by the sender and the recipient. Claude (Anthropic) is not Colle's sub-processor: Anthropic processes your conversation under your own agreement with them. More on the [security page](/security/).

## Questions

### Does the recipient need Claude too?

No. A handoff sent from Claude can be picked up in ChatGPT, and the other way round. Microsoft Copilot and Gemini are coming soon.

### Which Claude plans does it work with?

Colle is a remote connector. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds it for the organisation and members connect with their own account; we set it up with you during the pilot.

### Does Claude send our data to Colle on its own?

Claude calls Colle only when you ask it to hand off, check or search work. Colle stores the handoff, its facts and files in the EU.

### What does Colle cost?

€15 per active person per month, or €12.50 billed yearly, excluding VAT. People who only receive notifications do not pay. Each person keeps their own Claude subscription.
